I saw this on Rebekah's blog and needed a study break, so here are (sing it with me now...) a few of my favorite things!

Favorite time of day: In the summer time I like dusk, the sun isn't as hot and bright, but it is still warm enough to enjoy the outdoors!  I typically enjoy the afternoon hours in general.

Favorite season: Spring or Fall.  I like spring for the budding flowers and sunny days.  I like fall for the crisp air and changing leaves.

Favorite Month: October.  Which will always be in my mind Marching Band season (yes, I was a proud drum major band geek in high school).

Favorite holiday: Christmas

Favorite subject in school: Biology

Favorite channel: Not gonna lie, I love PBS.  Also not gonna lie, I love it for the children's programming.  Arthur is a boss.

Favorite color: Red

Favorite song: Hmm...currently, it's probably "Washed by the Water" by NeedtoBreathe.

Favorite Movie: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Favorite Celebrity: Right now I am girl crushing on all the ladies of TeamUnicornFTW.

Favorite kind of music: I listen to a little bit of everything.  Depends on my mood.  Anything from Showtunes, Rachmaninoff, Chicago, TobyMac, Ella/Sarah/Billie, you never know what you'll get off of my playlists. 

Favorite tv show: Currently, my favorites have to be either Community or Parks and Recreation.  The characters are just SO hilarious and I wish they were all my friends.

Favorite thing to do: In no particular order.  Eat.  Sleep.  Make music.  Spend time with hubzo.

Favorite place in the world: hmm...I don't think I've experienced enough in my travels to decide.  But I LOVED Salamanca, Spain.  The history and culture and academic feel of the city was lovely.  I want to go back someday!

Favorite hobby: I play the piano.  I craft.  I play videogames.  I bake tasty treats and eat them.

Favorite kind of animal:  I've always had a thing for hippos.  They are cute.

Favorite place to live: I think I'd like to live in the country.  Spending a few days staying with our friend Joyce out here in the "deep south" it has been so peaceful.  I also want a temperate climate.  Doesn't get to cold, doesn't get to hot.  If anyone knows where my dream locale is, please send me a plane ticket.

Favorite place to vacation:  Disneyworld!  That place never gets old.  I REALLY want to go to Star Wars Weekend at the end of May.

Favorite restaurant: I miss Fratello's in Appleton, WI.  Blue Crab Ravioli...need I say more.

Favorite food:  All of it.

Favorite thing to cook: I don't cook.

Favorite drink: Fresh squeezed lemonade.  Dr. Pepper.

Favorite chore: People have favorite chores?

Favorite Make-up: I don't wear any makeup except mascara.  So...mascara!

Favorite hair products: I don't really "do" my hair.  Its long and straight and healthy.  So I tend to not put products in it.

Favorite lotion: Whatever is lying around.

Favorite perfume: I don't often get perfume, but one scent that I love is Alabaster from Banana Republic.  Don't know if they still sell it...

Favorite memory: I'd have to say our wedding day.  It was just full of amazing people and went by without a glitch.  It's so funny how much time is invested to prepare for just one day.

Favorite blogger: You are ALL my favorites!  Every blog I follow is so unique and completely different than the next.  That's what I love about blogging.  Peeps tell it like it is.

Favorite thing to blog about: Whatever is happening in my humdrum life.

Favorite books: Currently reading Game of Thrones from the Song of Ice and Fire series in preparation for the new HBO series coming next month!  So geekcited!

Favorite verse: Can I just say the whole book of Ephesians?  But there is so much jam packed in this passage, Ephesians 3:16-19:

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Favorite thing to wear: Tshirt, Jeans or Skirt, Flip Flops

Favorite kind of day: Lazy days where you stay in pajamas and don't leave the house (aka, my spring break last week)

Favorite job: So far, i think my favorite job was being a piano teacher.  I was my own boss, set my own hours, worked with some amazing students, and got to be creative in my lesson plans.  I miss it!

I Got the Power...

...or, not really.

Matt and I were gone today while he was working painting on a house down in Florence (where our church is).  When we got home, we realized our AC wasn't working.  Earlier this week, we had an electrician come replace our main breaker which was burnt out and was getting tripped by our AC unit.  So since we just had it fixed, there shouldn't be anything wrong, right?  So Matt reset the breaker, and upon doing so, the power went out.  Not just in our apartment, but in the whole townhouse building and the building next to ours.  Coincidence...?

About an hour later, the troubleshooter from the energy company came and turned the power back on.  About 10 minutes later (upon trying to turn the AC back on), the power went out again.  When the troubleshooter returned, he checked all the meters for the building and all that other fun electrical stuff. Well...it turns out that the wiring BEHIND our main breaker was totally fried, and the electrician must have missed it earlier this week because of the way the breaker is designed (don't ask me...lol).  So basically, he was able to turn the power back on for all the other townhouse units EXCEPT ours.  Since it's an electrical problem, the landlord needs to get it fixed.

So here we are, staying at the dog-friendly hotel nearby.  Thankfully, our landlord will reimburse us for our stay.  We've just had so many problems with this apartment so far, its a little bit frustrating.  But we are thankful that we at least have a roof over our heads.


Oh, and I'm sure you are all DYING to know where I got the quote I posted yesterday.  In honor of St. Patty's, I chose a quote from the violent yet hilarious cult classic, The Boondock Saints.  This particular quote was from Willem Dafoe's character after his partners figured out a murder scene.  He does a little jig and it is quite hilarious.


In other news, my spring break week is over.  Time to enjoy the weekend before heading back to class on Monday!!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Trifolium repens*

Happy St. Pat's Day for those of you lucky Irish, and those of you who wish you were Irish.  I fall into the latter...I wish I had a cool accent :)

Well, I just noticed that in my ABC's of Me, I did NOT give a movie/tv show quote for the letter Q!  Blasphemy!  I come from a family who randomly quotes obscure movies in our daily conversations, something which has followed into my marriage.  I think Matt and I quote Star Wars or at least make a reference every. single. day.

So, because I'm sure you were all EXTREMELY disappointed that I did not provide you with a notable quotation from one of my favorite movies or tv shows, here you go!  But there is a catch!  You have to figure out what movie or TV show it is from!  First person to get it wins a prize**!!!
