Intergalactic Star Wars Day!

Fellow nerds know that today was Intergalactic Star Wars Day - May the Fourth be with you!!  In honor of this geeky holiday, Matt and I began a marathon of all the Star Wars movies, starting with the original trilogy, then moving on to the prequel trilogy.  We didn't start until about noon, so we are currently just finishing up Episode I: The Phantom Menace...but it's ok that we are just getting to the prequels now when technically today is now May 5th, or Revenge of the Fifth :)

In addition to our movie marathon, we sported Star Wars tee-shirts.  Matt wore his AT-AT or @@ Walker shirt, and I wore a rebel alliance shirt that I freezer paper stenciled.

We also had a coloring page bonanza, much thanks to the free downloads offered on the Star Wars website and some googling, and we added some fun captions. (click on the photo to enlarge so you can read the captions!)

Part of the reason why our marathon is going to run til late tonight/early morning is that we had to go to church for our Wednesday night service.  On these nights, Matt leads the youth group in a time of praise and worship, and then a small lesson.  Well in honor of today's festivities, I convinced him to do a lesson on Christian themes in Star Wars.  We wrote up a little lesson plan and had fun convincing the young teens that Star Wars IS cool.  You can find our lesson HERE.

Hope you had a very Happy Star Wars Day!!!

  3. @Eva - thanks for stopping by! At least you acknowledge that you know what Star Wars is...i have met people who must've been living under a rock because they didn't know anything about Star Wars. Give 'em a try!

@Eleni - I love all the HerUniverse apparel. If only I could win the lottery so I could buy them all :)
